About

Peter Marbarger has helped saved people from avalanches, wildfires and life-threatening injuries. He was a firefighter, EMT and ski patrol leader known for getting people out of impossible situations. But it wasn’t enough. He wanted to get people all the way back to living a healthy, active life and doing what they love. So he became a certified physician assistant.

After getting his bachelor’s degree in 2004 from the University of Maine, he took prerequisite courses at Keen State College and then in his hometown, at UAA. Through the MEDEX (medical exchange) program he earned his degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Washington in 2018.

He began his PA career here in Anchorage, assisting in orthopedic spine surgeon, seeing patients in clinic, and managing post-operative care of spine, trauma, total joint and sports medicine patients. Today his is a member of the OPA spine treatment team. And when he’s not helping mountain bikers, skiers, surfers other active Alaskans, he’s out there with them.
