About
Michael Baxter is a certified physician’s assistant who has two master’s degrees and a passion for helping people. He began his professional career as a medical assistant in Las Vegas, Nevada, where his proficiency in listening to patients, resolving patient concerns, and administering various procedures made him an invaluable asset.
Inspired to do more, he pursued master’s degrees in both Medical Health Science and Physician Assistant Studies. His clinical rotation in orthopedic surgery took him to OPA/Wasilla. He worked with Dr. Adam Ellison, who recruited Mr. Baxter to return in 2023.
Today Mr. Baxter is an integral member of Dr. Ellison’s team, focused primarily on caring for patients with shoulder, elbow, sports medicine, and other orthopedic concerns. In addition, he speaks fluent Spanish and is happy to translate for patients and their doctors at OPA. In his free time, Mr. Baxter enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, backpacking, and fishing. He’s also an avid motorcyclist and car enthusiast.
