Meet Christopher Manion, MD
Board-certified orthopedic surgeon Christopher J. Manion, M.D. is originally from Anchorage. He earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Science Center, Denver in 1998 and concurrently served a general surgery internship and completed his orthopedic surgery residency through the University of Colorado Health Science Center from 1998-2003. After that, Dr. Manion worked at ANMC where he was chief of orthopedic surgery before joining OPA in 2006.
Dr. Manion specializes in sports medicine, with a concentration on injuries to the knee and shoulder. In addition, Dr. Manion practices general orthopedics, treats surgical and non-surgical fracture patients, and performs hand/wrist surgeries.
Dr. Manion has extensive expertise and skills in treating shoulder and knee injuries over his 20 plus year career. His shoulder expertise includes treatment of rotator cuff tears, labral tears, biceps injuries, shoulder dislocations, and shoulder impingement. He also has extensive experience treating many knee conditions. His knee expertise including treating ACL tears, MCL injuries, meniscal tear repairs, and chondral injuries and reconstructions.
Dr. Manion enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including fishing & hunting, skiing, and traveling. He also enjoys time spent with his family. He is conversant in Spanish.
