Mr. Helmick earned his master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Pacific University, Forest Grove, OR and his bachelor’s degree in science from Portland State University, Portland, OR. He started his career in orthopedic care in the United States Navy and then worked in private orthopedic practices in Sitka, AK and Portland, OR.

His clinical skills include management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries and the evaluation of spinal injuries. Mr. Helmick is an operating room first assistant with extensive experience of knee, hip, and shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasty.
