Meet Sean Dunleavy, DPM
Dr. Sean Dunleavy is a board-certified podiatric surgeon providing comprehensive foot and ankle care at OPA’s Foot & Ankle Wasilla clinic. With training in rearfoot and reconstructive ankle surgery, Dr. Dunleavy treats a wide range of conditions—from chronic heel pain and ingrown nails to complex arthritic issues and post-traumatic deformities. His approach emphasizes both surgical and nonsurgical solutions that are tailored to each patient’s needs and lifestyle.
Dr. Dunleavy earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in 2015. He completed a three-year surgical residency at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where he served as Chief Resident in 2018. His training included advanced experience in limb deformity correction and external fixation techniques.
A second-generation podiatrist, Dr. Dunleavy grew up watching his father care for patients and is proud to now walk in those same footsteps—literally and figuratively. He brings not only deep clinical knowledge, but also a strong sense of purpose and connection to the profession.
In the spring of 2025, Dr. Dunleavy relocated to Alaska to serve the Mat-Su community. He is excited to build lasting relationships with his patients and contribute meaningfully to the health and wellness of the region.
Outside of clinic, Dr. Dunleavy enjoys off-road and motorsport adventures, aviation, combat sports, weight training, hunting, and fishing.
