About

Mr. Ellis brings an extensive background in patient care, public health, and research to the OPA team. He earned his bachelor of science in biology from the University of Central Arkansas and began providing medical care as an EMT/paramedic for Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services, providing emergency advanced life support care over a three-county area covering rural and urban environments.

As an intervention specialist and Director of the Arkansas Chronic Illness Collaborative, Mr. Ellis gained experience in public health. He was responsible for increasing the number of family practice clinics in Arkansas and identifying underserved medical populations within the state. Mr. Ellis continued his public health work in drug intervention studies before graduating from Harding University, Arkansas as a physician assistant.

As a physician assistant-hospitalist, Mr. Ellis conducted pre-surgical history and physicals for orthopedic and neurosurgical patients and completed inpatient rounds on post-surgical patients. In the hospital emergency room, he managed and stabilized patients following trauma, including orthopedic conditions such as fractures, sprains, and dislocations. Mr. Ellis worked as a physician assistant in urgent care and in a walk-In clinic prior to joining OPA.

Mr. Ellis is very excited to partake in the outdoor opportunities that Alaska has to offer. He and his family love to hunt and fish and are anxious to explore the vast Alaska wilderness.
