About

Kate Boston holds a doctorate degree in occupational therapy from Creighton University, Omaha, NE. She focused her doctoral fieldwork on hand therapy, honing her clinical skills in evaluating and treating pathology of the upper extremity. For her professional rotation, Ms. Boston specialized in post-operative and conservative care at an orthopedic practice in Minnesota. Her duties included administering appropriate intake evaluations and assessments, implementing client-centered interventions, and managing care plans throughout discharge. She fabricated custom orthotics with various thermoplastic materials for multiple diagnoses and collaborated with orthopedic physicians to provide cohesive patient care. Ms. Boston also created an evidence-based clinical practice guideline for extensor tendon repair in zones IV-VII.

Ms. Boston earned her bachelor of science in therapeutic recreation from Winona State University in Winona, MN. After graduation, she spent three years working as a CTRS/Recreational Therapist for a non-profit in Anchorage. During this time, she facilitated therapeutic recreation and adaptive sports to people with physical and intellectual disabilities within the community, hospital rehabilitation units, after school programs, and the outdoors.

Ms. Boston is excited to be back in Alaska, helping patients of all ages achieve their rehabilitation, athletic, and personal goals.
