About
Eva Vaaia grew up in Southeast Alaska and earned two degrees from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She started her medical career as an x-ray tech, working for both OPA and Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC). During that time, she imaged countless patients with fractures - both new and post-surgical - but wanted to do more.
She decided to really help people prone to breaking bones, she needed to help prevent those fractures. So she went to PA school, earned a master’s degree, and returned to Alaska to practice at OPA. She loves working as a certified physician's assistant and caring for individuals with low bone density conditions, such as osteoporosis, and helping them reduce their risk for fractures.
She also gets to enjoy life in Alaska and says she's thrilled to have the opportunity to care for patients across this wonderful state. When not doing just that at OPA, she enjoys hanging out with her husband, walking her dog, reading, crafting, gardening and hiking.
