About

Cal (Duane) Heald is a fellowship-trained orthopedic physician assistant with many years of experience — including several years with the U.S. Air Force. He was an orthopedic physician assistant for two years on Elmendorf AFB, one year on Balad AFB in Iraq, and 4 years on Lackland AFB in Texas.

OPA recruited Mr. Heald to join our team in 2008. Here, he practiced alongside one of Alaska’s most renowned orthopedic surgeons, the late William Mills, III. Today Mr. Heald continues to help both walk-in patients and those seeking his expertise in the treatment of knee, shoulder, joint replacement and other musculoskeletal conditions.

Mr. Heald holds a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and completed his orthopedic physician assistant fellowship at Keelser AFB in Mississippi.
