What is OrthoLive?
OrthoLive is a 24/7 virtual service that helps you get quick advice on orthopedic injuries. You can either text-chat or have a video call with an expert after entering your basic information.
Who will I talk to?
You’ll connect with a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)—a healthcare professional trained to prevent, diagnose, and help treat sports injuries. They offer expert advice, rehabilitation guidance, and support to help you recover.
Is OrthoLive covered by insurance?
- No, OrthoLive is not covered by insurance.
- Text chat is free.
- Video appointments cost $25 (price may change).
Insurance information is gathered during the intake phase to provide a complete visit summary to OPA once your visit is complete.
How is my information used?
Your information is only used to follow up on your visit if needed. It’s never sold or shared. If you have a video visit, you may be asked to fill out a quick satisfaction survey.
How is OrthoLive different from OPA’s Injury Walk-in Clinic?
- OrthoLive gives you fast access to a specialist who can offer advice about new or ongoing injuries, but they won’t diagnose conditions.
- OPA’s Injury Walk-in Clinic is an in-person option where a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant can examine you, order x-rays, and diagnose your injury.
What happens after my OrthoLive visit?
After your chat or video call, the specialist will summarize your visit. If you need a follow-up, an OPA staff member will contact you to schedule an appointment.
What if I need more care?
If a specialist thinks you need an in-person exam or x-rays, they’ll recommend you visit OPA’s Injury Walk-in Clinic. In some cases, they may suggest going to the Emergency Department. These visits would be processed through your insurance.
